EDSS - Access Control

Most businesses understand that the safety of their assets is a priority. Those assets may include people, product, and/or environment. Limiting access only to authorized personnel is a fundamental requirement of an Access Control system.

The minimal amount of access control a business needs is the typical key and lock hardware system. These are proven methods, but are cost prohibitive (think about how much a locksmith cost when you have a new key made or a lock set changed) and do not offer any time-control or audit-trail capability.

Electronic Access Control systems have proved their value. A business can save on key and lock maintenance cost, as well as provide an audit-trail (where and when assets are accessed) and control over access time-frames.

There are many different technologies available at different cost and security levels. Feel free to look through this document to give you some access control ideas.
